How the figures are worked out: the $75 service call covers the first half hour; any time beyond it is charged at the job's hourly rate. A visit that mixes handyman and electrical or plumbing work is itemized at each rate.
What the $75 service call covers
The service call pays for the trip and the first half hour of work. If your job fits in that time, $75 is the whole charge for our time. Got several small things? Put them on one visit so the service call is paid once. More detail is in the questions on our home page.
Why electrical and plumbing work is $125/hr
Electrical and plumbing work carries more risk and more code requirements than general repair work, so it has its own rate. We do most of that work ourselves and bring in a licensed electrician or plumber where a job calls for it. To see which jobs need a permit or a licensed trade, read electrician or handyman: what Ohio rules say.
When a flat quote applies instead
Anything bigger than a service call gets one price for the whole job. That covers remodels, excavation and drainage, and long lists that would run most of a day. We walk through the job with you on a free video call, then quote it. You agree to the number before any work is scheduled.
Common questions about cost
What does the $75 service call include?
It pays for the trip to your house and the first half hour of work once we're there. A job that fits inside that time costs the service call and nothing more for our time.
Why are electrical and plumbing work billed at a higher rate?
Electrical and plumbing work carries more risk and more code requirements than general repair work, so it has its own rate: $125/hr. We do most of that work ourselves and bring in a licensed electrician or plumber where a job calls for it.
When do I get a flat price instead of an hourly rate?
When the job is bigger than a service call: remodels, excavation and drainage, or a long list that would run most of a day. We look at it with you over a free video call and quote the whole job as one number.
Do prices change from town to town?
No. The same rates apply in Chagrin Falls, Solon, Chardon, Hudson, Kirtland and every other town on our service-area list, across Geauga, Cuyahoga, Lake and Summit counties.
